Vista’s AERO vs. Ubuntu’s BERYL
An interesting look and comparison of Microsoft Vista’s AERO interface and Ubuntu Linux’s BERYL interface. It sure looks like Microsoft (and Apple for that matter) has a long way to go. Why don’t these big companies hire some of the talent behind BERYL for their next release?

Actually, in my opinion, the Ubuntu interface features too many unnecessary animations, which makes it really ugly. (It’s like putting on too much make-up.) I really hope Microsoft does NOT hire anyone that worked on this ugliness…

Why today OSs are trying to add those kind of unnecessary features like this animations. Do you want windows to take two or three seconds to hide from your screen ?
